I liked the game. I wish it had more levels and perhaps a few more mechanics to make
you combine the tools you have (growing stuff) in new ways.
Here is a list of my random thoughts about it:
If you beat the level without finding an animal, there will be no second chances.
I would like to be able to replay the level again to make it 100% completion.
Waiting until the misplaced vegetable goes away could be frustrating.
It’s mostly noticeable when you’re replaying a level.
Pressing an escape button in the browser exits the fullscreen mode.
It makes it slightly inconvenient to browse the stats while playing a browser build of the game.
There was a moment where the game said I found 3/3 secrets while I only got 2/3.
Maybe the counter doesn’t reset to 0 if you restart the game?
Something looks off in there.
The pumpkin looks underused. I think there were a couple of places where pumpkin
was a way to go since mushroom-boosted jump would kill you due to the spikes,
but it still looks like it’s possible to beat the game without pumpkins.
The mushroom jump timing could be hard to get right.
I fell off the level boundaries once. I had to redo the first to levels because of that. :D
Maybe give a free restart in that case? Like treat it as a defeat of a player in the same
way as going into the spikes works.
The graphics are neat, but I can see the difference in the resolution of the sprites.
Perhaps the assets used different scaling ratios?
It’s totally understandable for a jam prototype, but it ruins the graphics style a bit.
Thank you a lot! I watched your gameplay) About your feedback:
1) It is more about jam time limitation for me. So yeah it is must be a re-playable levels until your find everything.
2) I see what i can do about it, maybe new button to dismiss placed plant(?).
3) I really did not know about it work that way in browser play. I'm usually play in not fullscreen mode. I'll fix that)
4) It is about something goes wrong with magic tree ability and Fox colliders overlaps each over (if you placed them one on top other). I'll look to fix it.
5 and 6) So, i saw how you "broke" mushroom (kinda). You dont need to press jump on it) Mushroom just throw you up by it's self) But what i saw (on your playthrough) if you pressed jump on correct frames of mushroom animation it's boost stacks with jump boos)) I was shocked how high you can go that way)) Most of the time if you dont know how to reach something -> place a magic tree (ability) and most of the time there will be a hidden platform) But you sometimes just skipped hidden platforms because of mushroom "bug-boost" ))
7) Yeah. i can just add condition levels.
8) Yeah, it's mesh up from deferent assets. It's can be fixed)
Love the atmosphere in the game , both idea, music and graphics are great!
If i should comment on anything, it would be to work on the character controls. There are a lot of good tutorials on improving 2d platfomer controls out there. For example being able to control the height of a jump by letting go of the jump button is a great start.
Also i would like to get a hint on when to press jump on the mushroom. A sound or graphics countdown or something.
Mushroom works by it is own) you just need to be on top of it when it grown and *POOF* you pushed in the air)
I intentionally dint use "hold to jump higher" mechanic because i'm afraid of overwhelming player. I already have two kinds of "reach higher ground" mechanics (mushroom and pumpkin) and decided - it will be enough for this project) But it definitely a ground for further work on gameplay.

Huge thanks for playing my game! I appreciate it!
LOL, so mushroom boost wasn’t intended? xD So fascinating. :D

i'm glad you like to play it)
Very nice idea. That art is very pretty and the game play is really good. I was a bit confused at the start, but quickly got into it
Glad you like it) Thanks for your feedback!
